Following the needs of our customers, we want to offer a clear and understandable explanation of our SMS reports. Learning about the process will help you get the most out of our services, ensuring effective and uninterrupted communication. Whether you are a new user or a seasoned expert, our explanations will help you understand what different message statuses mean.
SMS Reporting Basics
There are a number of key statuses in our SMS reports that help you gauge the success of a sent message. Each has its own specifics, which we explain below:
- Messages delivered: This status indicates that the message was successfully sent and delivered to the recipient.
- Message not sent: This means that the SMS message was not sent. There are many reasons why this could have happened, such as an incorrect GSM number, missing prefix, too few or too many characters.
- Message undelivered: This status means that despite being sent, the SMS was not delivered to the recipient. Reasons for this can be an overflowing SMS inbox of the recipient, a disabled phone, lack of coverage, incorrect SMS service configuration, SMS blocking filters, incorrect prefix, roaming blockers, or an incorrect GSM number.
Detailed Reasons for Failure to Deliver SMS Messages
We know how important it is to understand why some messages don’t get through. Understanding these reasons helps ensure better, more effective communication. That’s why we carefully explain the possible reasons why messages are not delivered:
- Messages at the operator: The message was sent by the system, but stopped at the operator. An example reason could be the recipient’s use of roaming.
- Expired messages: If a message is not delivered within 48 hours of being sent, we consider it expired. Reasons may include lack of coverage, the recipient’s phone being turned off, or an overflowing SMS inbox.
- Messages impossible to deliver: The message cannot be delivered due to an error, such as an incorrect prefix or missing GSM number. This may mean that the selected number does not exist or has expired.
- Rejected messages: The message was sent by the system, but rejected by the recipient. The reason may be blockages on the recipient’s side, such as blocking the receipt of messages or using roaming.
Remember, understanding these statuses and reasons can help you better manage your SMS communications and ultimately improve your interaction with your customers. We are always here to help and answer any questions you may have.
