We would like to help you optimize the way you prepare your database of email addresses and GSM numbers for import. Accordingly, we have developed some simple guidelines to help you organize and format your data effectively.
Preparing the base in Excel
This data is most easily prepared using Excel or any other spreadsheet editor. We encourage you to save your database in .csv format, which is not only widely accepted, but also easy to process. Below are our guidelines for a database prepared in Excel:
- Save the file with the .csv extension
- Put each record (email address and features) in a separate row
- Enter the characteristics of each record in separate columns
- Remove column headers such as first name, last name, company, email, etc.
- Set cell formatting to “general”
- Keep the entire base on one sheet (removing unnecessary sheets)
In addition, if there are GSM numbers in your database, make sure they are stored in the correct format: +48123456789 and the column with GSM numbers has text formatting.
An example database.csv file structure might look like this:
Preparing the base in Notepad
If you prefer the simplicity of Notepad, you can also prepare your database in this tool. Below are the guidelines for use:
- Save the file with a .txt extension
- Place records in separate rows
- Separate the record features with the same character (” ,” or ” ;”)
- Disable line wrapping option
An example structure of a database.txt file might look like this:
Important notes on database import
There are a few important considerations you need to take into account to ensure a smooth import of your database:
- A necessary data in each record is the email address!
- If the record does not contain an e-mail address, a replacement e-mail address will be generated based on the GSM number, e.g. +48123456789
- If the record does not contain either an email address or GSM number, it will not be imported into our system!
Understanding and following these guidelines will help you get the most out of our services. Thank you for your cooperation and we are ready to assist you with any questions or concerns.
