Your database is a key part of the information management process. Therefore, it is essential that you have full control over its structure and content. Here’s how to easily customize your database.
The structure of your database
To adjust the structure of the database in your account, follow these steps:
- Open the ADDRESSES module in your system
- Go to the Base Structure section
By default, there are 9 basic features defined in the system, which can be freely modified. For example, you can rename the ‘C1’ trait to ‘First Name’ and ‘C2’ to ‘Last Name’. The system also includes predefined ‘E-mail’ and ‘GSM’ traits dedicated to storing phone numbers, which do not require additional modifications.
Adding new features
If you need more features, our system offers you a simple option to create them:
- Select ADD NEW FEATURE
- Enter the name of the new feature (it should consist of letters a-z, without spaces or special characters)
- Select ‘field type’: Text, Number, List and Consent. The choice depends on the type of data you plan to import into the new feature
- Determine the ‘feature details’, which for a text type means the maximum number of characters. If the field type is a list, you specify the possible values in the feature details. Only these data will be imported into the feature
Your new feature is ready
You can find the created feature at the bottom of the screen, in the Extended Base Structure Settings section. Modified and new features are visible during the database import as available options to which you can import data.
